How much smaller will my PDF get?

It depends. Office-app PDFs with uncompressed streams often shrink 30–70%. Files that are mostly compressed photos shrink less unless you pick Strong.

Is the compression lossless?

Lossless keeps text, vectors and images exactly. Strong re-encodes images at a lower resolution, visible only on close inspection.

Is there a size limit?

No. Any size, any page count, and you can compress several PDFs at once.

Can I compress a PDF to a specific size?

Yes. Pick a target and Byhand tries lossless first, then re-encodes images only as much as needed. If the target can’t be reached, you get the smallest version and its exact size.
