Typically 40–80% for JPG at quality 75–80, and 10–40% for PNG (lossless). Results depend on the source.
Is PNG compression lossless?
Yes. PNGs are optimised with Oxipng, which changes nothing about the pixels.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page has loaded.
Can I compress to an exact size, like under 1 MB?
Yes. Pick a target size and Byhand finds the best quality that fits each image, shrinking dimensions only if it must. If a target can’t be reached, you get the smallest result and its exact size.
