02 — Questions
Frequently asked questions
Will it look exactly like Word?
Very close. Calibri, Cambria, Arial, Times New Roman and Courier New are replaced by metric-compatible fonts, so lines usually break where Word breaks them. Other fonts use the closest match, and text wrapped around floating images, multi-column sections and charts are simplified.
Which images are kept?
PNG, JPEG, GIF, BMP and WebP, plus EMF and WMF drawings, which are redrawn as high-resolution images. Charts and SmartArt without a preview image are skipped and counted in the summary.
Are accents and other alphabets supported?
Yes. Latin (including Vietnamese), Greek and Cyrillic are set in real, searchable fonts. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hebrew and other scripts are drawn as images so they still appear.
