How accurate is it?
Good on people against reasonably distinct backgrounds; fine hair, glass and busy backgrounds can need touch-ups. It is not a general object cutter.
Which model is this?
MODNet photographic portrait matting (Apache-2.0) on ONNX Runtime. With WebGPU it takes a fraction of a second; otherwise a few seconds on a laptop, longer on phones.
Can I choose a background colour?
Yes. Pick transparent, or any flat colour, before downloading the PNG.
