Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between AI and Classic?
Classic is a Lanczos resampler with sharpening: fast and faithful, but it cannot add detail. AI uses Real-ESRGAN, a super-resolution model that rebuilds edges and textures.
Is AI good for text and screenshots?
Not always. It can invent plausible but wrong detail in small lettering, so Classic is safer for documents, screenshots and logos.
What is the maximum size?
Classic goes up to 8192 px on the long edge; AI up to 16 megapixels (8 on phones). The result says when a limit applied.
